Children's Ministry At Bunbury Vineyard Christian Fellowship

Our programme runs during the school term and covers the "teaching time" of our Sunday morning programme. When it's "sermon time" for the grown-ups - Kids Club participants exit and receive activity-based teaching at a level appropriate for each different age group for approx 45 - 60 minutes.

We have a basic routine for our general sessions that all age groups are encouraged to follow - to give the children a sense of continuity but this is structured a little differently for each group according to their needs. Each group is well resourced with good teaching material and equipment for activity based learning.

Once a month all ages (apart from creche) combine for a different type of session - to help develop a sense of identity as a larger group and to enjoy some different activities (eg music and singing) that are not possible in their smaller groups.

Each term we have a Kids Club Fun Day - a fun session that is totally different each time and combine that with sharing a meal together - usually on a Saturday or a weekday during school holidays.

Each term we also have a "Family Service" whereby the whole church stays together for the entire Sunday morning programme - various Kids Club leaders and participants contribute and the teaching is pitched at a level that the children can easily follow and understand.

Each Family Service is different and involves different members of the Team.

We prepare a regular "Kids Club News" page for the church bulletin to keep everyone informed of what's happening in Kids Club.

We also sponsor a child with Compassion Australia and enjoy different fundraising endeavors throughout the year as well as encouraging each Kids Club child to contribute a small amount each week from their pocket money.

Kids Club is coordinated by Carol Turner and Jane Olsen. The various teachers and their helpers are encouraged to attend a Team meeting each term to participate in the planning and development of the programme.

We try to encourage ALL parents to be involved in some way during the year and also welcome the involvement of others who do not have children attending the programmes.

We are currently developing a comprehensive "Duty of Care" package to ensure that the children and leaders enjoy a safe programme and environment at all times.

Creche is available for 0 - 3 year olds. The roster for supervision covers the school term. Parents are welcome to supervise their children in the facility at other times. The Creche facility is located near the café area.

Sparklers is the name of our programme for Kindy to Year 1 children (4 - 6/7 years). The Sparklers room is off the main Kids Club room.

Superkids is the name of our programme for Year 2 to Year 4 children (7 - 9 years). Superkids meet in the main Kids Club room.

KFC (Kids for Christ) is the name of our programme for Years 5 to 7 children (10 - 12 years). They usually meet in the main Kids Club room. This group also has a Youth Group session every second Friday night.
