History Of The Bunbury Vineyard Church:

In 1999, the Australind Vineyard Christian Fellowship planted a new church in Bunbury, led by Senior Pastors Trevor & Jenny Wolfe. At the time, Australind Pastor Don O'Shanassy said "One of the best ways to spread the good news about Jesus Christ is to plant new Churches. We had a goal when we came here that we would be a Church planting organisation as this is one of the objectives of the Vineyard, so it made sense to start another Fellowship in Bunbury".

The Bunbury Vineyard Christian Fellowship was first called The Lighthouse Vineyard Christian Fellowship. We began meeting on ANZAC day, 25th April 1999, with a group of about 60 people (35 adults and 25 children) from the Australind Vineyard Christian Fellowship.

Our first home was the Lighthouse Beach Resort where we met for 6 months.

But as we grew it became obvious that we needed to move.

We moved to the Lyric Theatre, Bourke Street, in October of 1999.

We exhausted every avenue in looking for a suitable permanent venue and were wondering where to turn next when we told that the Zone underage nightclub had closed and the venue was available.

The moment we walked in we knew this was the place God had been preparing for us.

It was central, fitted out and had great funky colours.

We moved in on 2nd June 2002.

From the moment we planted the Bunbury Vineyard we wanted God's vision for our fellowship and the Lord gave me a word, "Come in and Go Out." What this meant was for us to seek God and find out what he wanted for our fellowship rather than run ahead of him. This involved a lot patience and trust because we were not always clear about what the face of our church should look like.

Over the past five years the Holy Spirit has been birthing a hunger and a desire in Christians around the world for a deeper intimacy with him while at the same time telling us that God wants to take his Church back. God is preparing Christ's bride through a journey of brokenness and humility to be his perfect bride. We at the Bunbury Vineyard are committed to allow God to build his church.

The two things that have God has impressed on our hearts is a desire for deeper intimacy with God through brokenness and humility and to make discipleship our priority.
