History Of The Bunbury Vineyard Church

currentvenue.jpgIn 1999, the Australind Vineyard Christian Fellowship planted a new church in Bunbury, led by Senior Pastors Trevor & Jenny Wolfe. At the time, Australind Pastor Don O'Shanassy said "One of the best ways to spread the good news about Jesus Christ is to plant new Churches. We had a goal when we came here that we would be a Church planting organisation as this is one of the objectives of the Vineyard, so it made sense to start another Fellowship in Bunbury".

The Bunbury Vineyard Christian Fellowship was first called The Lighthouse Vineyard Christian Fellowship. We began meeting on ANZAC day, 25th April 1999, with a group of about 60 people (35 adults and 25 children) from the Australind Vineyard Christian Fellowship.

From the moment we planted the Bunbury Vineyard we wanted God's vision for our fellowship and the Lord gave a word, "Come in and Go Out." What this meant was for us to seek God and find out what he wanted for our fellowship rather than run ahead of him. This involved a lot patience and trust because we were not always clear about what the face of our church should look like.

Since the departure of the Wolfes in 2006, Bunbury VCF has been a team-led church, the elders seeking God for direction and working closely with the broader leadership team. As we seek to operate by consensus, under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we at Bunbury VCF are committed to allow God to build his church.

The two things that have God has impressed on our hearts are a desire for deeper intimacy with God through brokenness and humility and making discipleship our priority.
