Our Values
Our Vision Statement
"Building God centered lives together"
Our values are centered around four main areas:
Worshipping God
- Outreach
- Thriving Spiritually
- Authentic Relationships
Worship
God passionately desires to have a relationship with us. Understanding this desire drives us to want to worship God passionately. Worship is about adoring God and celebrating Jesus. Worship is firstly a personal response to God each day of our life. Flowing out of this personal response, we worship God together as a fellowship. Our worship style is contemporary and open to God’s leading. We encourage people to take risks in exploring their response to God in worship. We also recognise that people worship God in different ways. Psalm 145: "Everyday I will praise you and extol your Name forever and ever". John 4:23 – 24; Romans 12:1.
Outreach
Everyone in our community is one of God’s Creation. God’s desire is to restore all of his Creation to himself through Jesus. As co-workers with God in this work, we engage with those in our community who are not yet Christian. We do this by expressing unconditional love and compassion. By extending friendship and building relationships so we can introduce them to Jesus. We also recognise the importance of serving together with the wider Christian community in carrying out this calling from God. Matthew 28:19: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations". 1 Cor. 3:9; Rom. 8:19-25; Ephesians 3:10
Thriving Spiritually
We are in the process of growing to be more like Jesus and thrive spiritually by keeping close to him. We encourage each other to grow spiritually by reading and putting into practice God’s Word (the Bible) in everyday life. We recognize that spiritual growth is a process and assist this process by seeking to provide a nurturing, mentoring, teaching and discipling church community. We encourage everyone to use the gifts God has given them for serving others and for the growth of our fellowship. John 15:5; Col. 2:6-7; Eph. 4:16; 1 Pet. 4:10; Eph. 4:11-13; 2 Pet. 3:18
Authentic Relationships
We recognise everyone as precious and value them as individuals. The love of Christ working in us teaches and enables us to love each other and develop authentic relationships. We cannot love God and follow Christ and at the same time be relating superficially to each other. We desire to understand and assist with each others needs to provide support, encouragement and healing. We honour godly family relationships which are the foundation of a healthy community. We encourage family members to work at building strong relationships. Mat.22:37-39 Jesus said: “love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind….and love your neighbour as yourself.” 1 John 4:7-21; Luke. 6:32; Eph. 6:1-3
