BURN
We provide the following services for youth:
BURN 10.9.8 activities are for youth in school
years 8, 9 + 10.
BURN 11+ activities are for youth in year 11 and beyond.
-
BURN 10.9.8 Sunday
am study session
During the school terms, there is a morning
session during the church sermon time. Youth not wishing
to be in the main auditorium during this time are welcome
to attend this study. It is held in the youth Shed and
aimed at this age group. This is a teaching time.
-
Questions and Answers - BURN 11+
During school terms we have a dinner and study night
for BURN 11+ youth. We call this fortnightly study "Q+A's",
as after eating dinner and fellowshipping the youth
gather and raise questions, and chat about answers.
This is aimed at the older youth, who wish to know each
other deeper, and expore common questions (related to
their faith) in a group setting. This happens every
seond Sunday night, normally 7pm - 9pm. For more detail
see the youth board at church.
-
Youth Worship Nights
("Tomatoes")
Throughout the year, the youth of the church run a worship
night session. The evening is held at our church in
the main auditorium. This service provides our young
people opportunities to use and develop their giftings.
Equipping our youth is a high priority. Keep your eyes
open for the next Tomatoes event!

Opportunities: Short Message.
Here is a short 4 minute message by Jason. It is very
raw but has a great impact and good message. It is great
to give the youth opportunites, as often there are gems,
like this one:
LISTEN.

School involvement
Our youth team has been involved with a local high
school with a ministry program. We were working with
a local Chaplian, this involved a term of X-Box entertainment,
encouragement for the Chaplain, and pray sessions:
- X-Box days: they ran once a week, X-Box session
during the lunch break. This gaves us an opportunity
to bless the students by providing an activity where
they are safe and interacting with others. This helps
us build relationships with many students.
- Prayer Days: was held once a week, a prayer session
during the lunch break. During this time we get to
know students better and pray for individual needs
and pray for the school as a whole
-
Internship
Our church provides opportunities for young people to
assist and learn through internships with various ministry
programs. A couple of our young people have completed
a ministry traineeship with Harvest West. We enjoy assisting
them as much as possible to train and equip them in
their studies and future ministries.
-
“Oxygen” events
Each month the local churches of Bunbury host an evening
worship service or an outreach event, for the youth.
Oxygen is a premier citywide event that allows young
people between the ages of 13 and 24 to connect with
each other and with God. The Rally nights provides highly
energetic music and dynamic youth speakers. This event
gives our youth a great opportunity to meet and develop
relationships with fellow Christian in the local community
as well as being blessed by some awesome worship and
impacting teaching! Visit the Oxygen website at www.oxygenyouth.com

Missions + Outreach
The youth desire to assist other communities and countries
in a practical way. They have such a great desire to
be involved with missions and outreach activities. There
are hundreds of possibilities and hundreds of countries.
In January 2007 we had two young ladies, Joanna and
Rebecca who both attended different YWAM missions. They
had a wonderful time, learnt a great deal, and were
thankful for the church's support.
In February 2007 Jesse, Akita, and Jason travelled to
Tanzania, Africa. They joined the Oxygen Youth team
and assisted with the Imara Foundation. Activities included
teaching English at schools, preaching at a Leaders
Seminar, visiting widows, playing with orphans, and
visiting local churches. It was an incredible time which
has impacted them all greatly. They are also thankful
for the church's support and they look forward to the
next adventure.
There are ongoing plans and ideas for furture missions
and out-reaching projects, as they bless others and
also help to develop the participants both personally
and spiritually.
-
Camps + Conferences
We encourage our youth to attend various Christian camps
and conferences. We have seen amazing results from the
conferences that they have attended. These events are
displayed on noticeboards, printed on church bulletins,
online, etc
-
Small groups
There are various small groups, run from our church
or home based, that the youth are involved in and welcome.
Small bible studies, DVD teaching nights, Sound + Media
workshops, Compassion ministry, leadership study, worship
ministry…. etc. We encourage the youth to link
up in some way.
-
BURN youth group
During the school terms, there will be gatherings
for youth. The youth group is run by the youth leaders.
Building relationships is the main focus, where other
things can be built from. For more details see one of
the youth leaders.
