Perceptions.
Yesterday I was walking around an old country town, called Bridgetown.
I enjoy walking in new paces, but as it was sunny I chose to wear my sun
glasses and not my reading glasses. Mistake number one.
While walking along the path I noticed several lovely homes which caught
my eye, in-between glancing at the river. Half way through the walk I
noticed a home further down the river which was painted in an old cream
colour and looked to have older style appearance. As we walked towards
the house I was trying to think of how old this building must be and wonder
who would of built it those many years ago.
After a few minutes we finally get closer to the old house, so I can see
it in more detail, and to my suprise it was not an old house. It was in
fact quite young and had only been painted in older styled colours. I
was shocked.
I saw it from afar and wanted it to be an older home so my dreams/perceptions
filled in the blanks (what I couldn't see).... I love old homes, and had
allowed my perceptions to lead me off... away from reality! Mistake number
two.
What surprised me the most was I had convinced myself that it was an old
home... and I was shocked that I actually got it wrong. I do believe that
I make mistakes, but didn't know I could make a big one like that. Just
goes to show you that your preconceived thoughts do have the power to
lead you astray, and end up far far from the goal/truth. Don't think like
I did, that you can not make big mistakes. Mistake number three.
I don't like making mistakes... but it is a way I do seem to learn from,
and learn very quickly.
Walking with you,
Akita.

Proverbs 3 v 13-18
Blessed is the man who finds wisdom,
the man who gains understanding,
for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than
gold.
She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with
her.
Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace.
She is a tree of life to those who embrace her;
those who lay hold of her will be blessed.
