Radio.
Last week, I attended a retreat in New Norcia, Australia's only Monastic
town. Spending three days there ended up being quite a challenge for myself
yet a delight for others.
There were some things I enjoyed, like watching monks walk around with
long black capes, the landscape was very beautiful, and having some-else
cook my meals. The days, programs, events, and prayers were too structured
for my liking and I felt like a robot... but others familiar to this style
found the retreat okay.
The hardest activity for me was eating a meal in complete silence,
with 70 other people. AAAuuuughghghghghghgh !!!
Different people like listening to different radio stations... some like
quiet classical. I normally have rock blasting out of my speakers... and
I attempt to sing along as loudly and energetically and with meaning as
possible.
Each to their own - but just make sure you are listening/tuned into God....
who wishes all to come to know Him, all to enter heaven, all to hear His
voice, all to have a one-on-one relationship with Him.
Please understand: You can call out to Him at any time, you do not need
fancy words, you do not need to wait until Sunday, or to be an ordained
minister. Come as you are.... and be you.
Blessings,
Akita.
