Be Open - part 2.
Recently my family went on a holiday. One of the days we went for a walk
around the city area, there were many people, shops, cafes, parks, entertainment.etc
The atmosphere was wonderful. Being new to the area I was looking at everything
trying hard to take in as much info as possible.
Walking passed on cafe where I saw a father and son who were sitting together
at a great table at the front of the cafe over looking the streets and
view of the beach - prime cafe seating. What caught my attention was they
were both alone, sitting together, and both talking on their own individual
mobile telephones..... not alone, but alone.
Connected or dissconnected? Well I guess they were connected in a way.
Do you really intereact? Are you silent every now and then to let the
other person share? Do you open up or are you just waiting until they
open up?
Doing things out of habbit/ritual/duty, we could easily be missing the
point/purpose. Unless we open up... relationships don't grow very well...
there will be a limit, a block/ceiling.
Often routine, makes us feel slightly satisfied that you have made some
attempt.... check you motives, check your routines, check your purpose,
check your heart.
People always seem to want to have better relationships... but it's not
a gift it is something that needs to be worked on. We need to be open
and vunerable to God if we want our relationship with Him to grow.....
we can tend to forget that we have a huge role to play in that coming
to reality.
Evaluate - keep asking yourself questions: Why am I doing this? What is
the purpose of this?
Routine can sometimes help but can sometimes also be a big hinderance.
Being vunerable and open is difficult
but great place for growth, humility, and hearing from God.
"How is Gods stuff going to get into my life/mind/heart?"...
if you dont an open up it will be very difficult to be full, it would
only be shallow - doing the actions but not really engaging.
Keep seeking,
Akita.
