Hi, Akita here - trust you are having a good week.

Detour.

Today I was driving along to a place I visit every Thursday. I know exactly where it is and the quickest way to get there. I always travel the same way, except for today. There were some road works and so I came to a dead end and my only options were to follow their detour or to turn around.

So off I go following their detour, into some small streets I had never seen in my whole life, weaving in and out in an unfamiliar area. I was totally reliant on the signs they had used.

At first I was annoyed as it was not the road I am used to, it was taking longer, and I was off-put by being reliant on something else to get to my final destination.

At the end I realised that I had seen some new homes/places that I would not have traveled past if it was not for the detour, and it was safer that way, and I still got to my destination.

Few lessons I have learnt from today:

1. We may be taken down a different route than the one we had planned, but will no doubt get to the destination that we have be told to aim at... not your way, but His.
2. Sometimes we can use our own knowledge to get through things, other times we must be reliant on His.
3. Always keep an eye out for signs, they will help you navigate through mess and unfamiliar territory.
4. Different is not bad, it is just different.

Blessings,

Akita.
