Know The Lyrics.
Often I sing songs in our home, I enjoy singing but my children think it is embarrassing. If it is a song I have only heard a little, sometimes my kids laugh and say that I got some of the lyrics wrong - and so I am singing very loudly the wrong words.
Now don't try and tell me that this hasn't happened to you! Most of the time I replace the word with something that sounds similar but this often changes the story significantly. Maybe I am not listening carefully enough or not listening to the song a few times before attempting to reproducing it.
On the flip-side we have some cd albums that are played often, and because we play them over and over we know the lyrics, what song will be next, the story, and of course the meaning and intent of the song. We can only get to that point by re-playing the cd and being familiar to the words and listening for the authors' message in the song.
This example illustrates to me the importance of knowing God's word well. To not just read the bible once, but to continue to re-read and familiarise ourselves with His Word, His messages, and with Himself.
I am not going to tell you that it is easy to read daily, but I do see the importance in going over things, knowing the true meanings, and of course... singing the correct lyrics.
Blessings,
Akita.
