Simply Being.
Two months ago I was driving my car around in a large city during winter. In large cities you end up spending a lot of time in your car driving around getting from one place to another. My drive that morning was a 45 minute journey and I was fully focused on watching the road and trying to get to my destination. It was raining heavily that day and so for my trip my windscreen wipers were very busy.
Towards the end of my journey something happened... it took me a few seconds to register what was occurring. But I realised that every now and then, things would change and the change was silence. I had not noticed that occasionally I would drive under a bridge and for that brief time there was no noise of heavy rain pounding.
It makes perfect sense to all of you (who are reading) because it is simple...but when you are in the thick of it and feel like you are being pounded or you are in the rat race... bits of silence become intriguing.
Sometimes we don't notice the noise until we experience silence... and that the simple things seem miles away.
For myself and maybe others it is easier to be doing than to just being.
Doing is easy, being is harder.
Blessings,
Akita.
