Hi, Akita here - Every day is new and a blessing, are
you having a good one? Today while drive home a police car drove past me, I didn't see it coming, only once it was going past me. I quickly looked at my dash board to view the speedometer. I looked at the dial to try to gauge how I was traveling. It occurred to me instantly that I should be looking at the dial more often... not just when danger lurks. I was not speeding so I relaxed a bit, but it made me realise that I am often in cruise control and complacent.... not keeping an eye on the dials provided or monitoring how I am traveling. In the general rush of the day to day activities we sometimes
focus on the activity and not so much on how we are operating during the
journey. How we are traveling. is very important... not just the speed,
but how we do it, and how we live our life. Often this doesn't enter our
thoughts until we are alerted to something or we are shocked. We humans
tend to only evaluate things when something is in our face or in danger/troubled
times. 1 Timothy 4 v 16: Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. Next time you are driving and catch yourself being complacent,
make the choice to monitor how you are traveling. Do we have to lose something
before we learn or begin to appreciate it? Watch the dials. Akita. |
