In Or Out.

My friend's mother loves figs and has made jam from the fruit from my tree. A while ago I asked if she wanted a plant of her own. The mother said she would be happy to have a fig tree, but insisted she wanted it to be from a cutting off the plant at the top, that is bearing good fruit, and not from a shoot that was growing out of the base of the tree. She wanted good stock, not something that was an off-shoot and unattached from the main tree.

John 15 v 5: "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."

I have thought about this concept for some time now, and feel that there may be a powerful message here for someone. We should stay in the vine.. and not follow temptation to rush off or force something too quickly. If we do rush off then we will no longer be in the vine... but creating a shoot that will not produce good fruit. Sometimes we could want something so badly that we make it happen before it's time.

If you are feeling desperate for your dream to come true, then stay "in" the dream-giver's vine. If He has given a dream or vision to you, then don't rush off but stay in Him ... don't chase the dream - chase Him.

Jesus is the true vine.
We are the branches... not an independent tree going our own way.

Growing with you,

Akita.

John 15 v 7+8

"If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish,
and it will be given you. This is to my Father's glory,
that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."
