Hi, Akita here - hope you are able to catch some sun rays, during this week.

Check Your Soil... part two.

Last week I explained how I was digging in my garden and discovered there were different types of soil, in the one garden. One of the types that I want to look at was this one: the last hole I dug out had a lot of cement rubble in the area, good for someone to hide rubbish/waste but not good for plants to grow in.

The area that I found the rubble in my soil was near to where old cement pies used to be. When the pipes were no longer needed they were smashed and left behind, the builders did not remove it. With the rubble hidden there it now takes up valuable room for where any plants roots could go.

There may also be an area in your garden or your life, that is full of rubble and in need of a serious overhaul in that area. But, the good news is that the rubble can be removed... once detected, and once you decide you no longer want it to be there any more.

Many gardeners use leather gloves when digging with their hands in the garden, you never know when you may come across sharp sticks, broken glass, etc.. if you rush trying to pull something out you can do some painful damage.
On television archeologists use soft brushes to move soil away from the hidden item... as they don't want to cause any damage, but still will find the item and remove it, but hopefully intact.

If you do a little digging or scraping in an area of your life you may find some rubble... someone once hid there, or something that was broken and never really corrected or removed. If you just look at the top soil you may not find it... you have to prod a little deeper. Some people don't want to be deep because that may reveal stuff that they don't want to see... then the rubble remains and that area is then limited, because something else has taken up that soil.

My garden is a work-in-progress and so is my life - trying to get to know my garden as much as possible, improve it where I can, adding new plants along the way, as well as trying to pull out rubble and weeds in the PROCESS.

Digging with you,

Akita.

Matthew 13 v 20-21

"The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man
who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.
But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time.
When trouble and persecution comes because of the word,
he quickly falls away."
