Hidden Ability.

This week my family spent a few days on holiday, near a beach. Each day the children swam in the water and often went "biscuiting"; where they are towed behind a boat on a floating disc/tyre.

On the last day of our holiday my husband and I went for a biscuit ride. We hung on for dear life, as those driving the boat tried to fling us off the tyre. The ride seemed to go for 10 minutes and my knuckles looked white as my hands were not moving from the handles.

Today I am feeling okay and am pleased to report no damage... yet my hands do feel a bit weak after the event. To my suprise I have discovered these mystery muscles inside my under arms... which are complaining a bit and feel fairly tight. I didn't know that I had muscles there and was quite surprised at this hidden muscle... I didn't know it existed until i had used it (by accident/by being bold) but there it was... hidden but still present and when i stepped out it was used and came in great handy.

Got me thinking about that sometimes we have to try new things and hope that there may be something within that kicks in and assists. How do you know if you have a muscle/gift unless you try to use it?

Muscles and gifts are freely given by God to his people to meet the needs of the body... both your personal body, and more importantly the body of Christ - your community. So it is your responsibility to start flexing - people are depending on you.

When you next get an opportunity to step out and do something different, don't be afraid of making some mistakes - that is how we can learn. I would be happy with the occasional mistake if it came with some progress. Doing a new exercise is worth it even if you feel a little sore.. at least the hidden ability is beginning to be used and eventually mastered.

Blessings,

Akita.
