Baby Photos.

Last night
I attended a Graduation Ceremony for Year 12 students, from the high school I work at. It was a wonderful time of being together, acknowledging the students, handing out awards, and hearing positive things about the young people.

During the night each of the 200 students went on stage to individually receive their graduation certificate. As each student was receiving their certificate their names went up on the big screen with also a photo of the student. It was a great idea and the best part for me was the fact that most had two photos per student so as a person walked on stage; their name, a baby photo, and a current photo was displayed on the big screen.

Everyone loves baby photos - they all looked precious and cute.
All the parents were there that night and how proud they must have been.. not only to see their child graduate but also to see their photos on the screen. How precious that person is to them.

It got me thinking about how each parent must see their grown child as that gorgeous baby ... and how each person is terribly important and valued by someone. If we could just see the common people down the street as ... precious babies that belong to a family... and know that someone cares for them greatly then maybe we would value them more.... they are not just a person... but a loved person... someone of tremendous value.

God's word tells us that all are loved and valued by Him... and we should love one another... maybe if we can picture/understand that God sees your neigbour as His own child... then maybe it would be easier to share the love... just as I found looking at someone's baby photos. By looking at those photos I caught a glimpse of how our God may see and love others.

I love babies and young children... and I am sure He loves the young children and even the ones that grow into adults.. they are still His... they are still valuable. I have two lovely teenage kids, they don't look as cute and defenseless like babies but they are so precious to me, and I hope that others in the world would treat them well. I love my babies and I want everyone else to be kind to them. I am sure that God - being the best parent - would share a similar concept.

Blessings,

Akita.
